Jimmy Lee Brown, 67, of Bettendorf, IA, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Riverview Manor in Pleasant Valley, IA. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 15th, at 11:00 a.m., with a one-hour visitation prior to the service, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. He was born in Cookeville, TN, on December 9, 1948, to Oscar and Leona (Ray) Brown. On May 12, 1983, in Davenport, IA, he married Kerrie Foster, who survives. In his younger years, he worked as a farm hand for his uncle. He later worked in Chicago and other areas, helping to build houses, and becoming a roofer. He enjoyed working with his dog, Isabell. Jimmy was a “friend” of “Bill W.” for almost twenty-six years. In addition to his wife, Kerrie, survivors include brothers and sisters: Lorene (Hack) Judd, Pauline (Ronnie) Allen, Daphne (Donnie) Smith, Linda Fae Benson, David Brown, Kimberly Kay Riley, MarLinda Silvey, V.Y. (Brenda) Vaugh, Mike Brown, and Cindy Day, all of Tennessee; and a sister-in-law, Mary V. Boyce of Pleasant Valley, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Brown, his brother, Paul Brown, and his son, Jimmy Lee Brown, Jr.
