Jessie L Knowlton

Jessie Knowlton, 77, of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Rock Island Nursing & Rehab Center in Rock Island, IL.   Services will be Tuesday, April 8th, at 11:00 a.m., at the Wendt Funeral Home, with a two-hour visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service.  Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.   Jessie L. Holt was born in Moline on December 9, 1936, to Jack and Genetta (Earhart) Holt.  In Syracuse, NY, in 1957, she married Donald Knowlton, who preceded her in death in 1976.     During the time of Donald's active duty, Jessie worked as a secretary for the U.S. Air Force, receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the Commander of the 354th Tactical Fighter Wing.  In the 1980's, she worked at Montgomery Wards, and then the Pizza Hut near Southpark Mall.   Survivors include, her daughter: Connie (Gary Burton) Knowlton of Moline; and sons: Michael Knowlton of Moline, and Steven Knowlton of Galesburg, IL; and a brother: Gary L. Holt of Davenport, IA.   She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
