Jerry I. Sivertsen

Jerry Sivertsen, 83, of Moline, IL, died November 6, 2012, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, IL. Services will be Thursday, November 8th, at 12:00 noon, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a two-hour visition from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Creek Care Center Memory Unit. Jerry I. Sivertsen was born in Moline, on September 13, 1929, to Otto and Melva (Work) Sivertsen. He graduated from Moline High School, and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was a Tool & Die Maker, and later, a machine tool salesman. For a time, he owned and operated his own businesses in Michigan and Florida. He retired from ALL Pump Company in 1992. He was a member of the Vikings, enjoyed working in his yard, loved taking winter trips to Florida with Elaine, and enjoyed motorcycling. Survivors include: daughter, Diane (Jeff) Nelson of Belvidere, IL; sons, Dwight (Donna) Sivertsen, and Douglas (Denise) Sivertsen, all of Moline; seven grandchildren: Nick, Chris, Matt, Andrew, & Ryan Sivertsen, and Michaela & Kyle Nelson; three great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Christopher, and Lillian; and very special friend, Elaine DeDecker of East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lawrence.
