Jeannine Blackburn

Jeannine Blackburn, 92, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Unity Point Health in Rock Island, IL.

Services will be Monday, January 24, 2022, at 1:00 pm, at First Covenant Church, 3303 - 41st Street, Moline, with a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL.

Memorials may be made to First Covenant Church, St. Jude's Children's Hospital Organization or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jeannine was born in Moline on November 12, 1929, to David M. and Freda Mae (Cox) Sandberg. She married Edward Blackburn on September 29, 1949, who preceded her in death on June 29, 2015.

Jeannine graduated from Moline High School. She was a member of King's Daughters, First Covenant Church, an Election Judge, and when she was younger a member of the Garfield P.T.A. While she held a few jobs, her primary job was being a wife and mother. Her enjoyments were family gatherings with extended family, traveling and winters in Florida with Ed. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who provided many special moments of pleasure and delights.

Survivors include her sons, David (Janice) Blackburn of Boca Raton, FL, Gregory Blackburn of Macomb, IL, and Jeffery Blackburn of Grayslake, IL; grandchildren, Kurt (Megan) Blackburn, John (Sabrina) Blackburn, Kerri (Grant)Troyer, Chris Blackburn, Quinn Blackburn and Paige Blackburn; six great-grandchildren, Lillian, Beau, Ella, Emery, Adelyn, and Aiden; three sisters, Joan (John) Welander, Judy (Paul) Wolf, and Jane (Jack) Littlefield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Milton Sandberg; a sister, Janet (Edward) Mudgett; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Blackburn.
