Jean E. Honsa,(nee Casady), 90, of Naples, FL, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 19th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 20th, at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1307 – 17th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Paralyzed Vets of America or to Avow Hospice. Jean was a life-long resident of the Quad Cities, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, and a Kings Daughter. She was an accomplished sculptor, bridge player, and always ready to dance on Saturday night. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas S. Honsa, DDS, and son Michael Honsa. Jean is survived by her children, Dr. Patrick (Julie) Honsa of Lansing, IL, Thomas W. (Sue) Honsa of the Quad Cities, and Ann (Carlos) Salaber of Naples, FL; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jean’s legacy is the Irish Blessing: May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face and the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
