Jean A Glanz

Jean A. Glanz, 87, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf, IA.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island, IL. Burial will be at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery, Rock Island.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Chicago.

Jean A. Carruthers was born in Moline on February 10, 1936, the daughter of P. Mason (Mace) Carruthers & Helen M. (Holmes) Carruthers. She married David A. Glanz on October 9, 1955, at 15th Avenue Christian Church in Rock Island.

She was a 1954 Graduate of Rock Island Senior High School. In 2009, she retired after fifteen years as an Administrative Assistant for RSM McGladrey Tax, Audit, & Consulting Company in Davenport, IA.

Jean was a member of First Christian Church in Moline and of the American Business Women's Association for many years. She also worked at Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island, IL, Collins Radio Co., Cedar Rapids, IA, and Richard Goepel Co., Moline, IL. She was a very accomplished Marimbist, having played since she was six years old; later in life, developing a trio with two very good friends calling themselves "The Disciples Three" and playing with them for fourteen years.

In addition to her husband, Dave, survivors include daughter Deborah (Charles) Raney; son James (Carole) Glanz; and daughter Amy (Brian) Fanning; brother John W. (Kathryn) Carruthers; grandchildren Courtney, Ashley, David, Cameron, Kelli, Megan, and Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Logan, Carter, Gavin, Dylan, Aleiana, Aiden & Josiah, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Karl Glanz; daughter Pamela Waeyaert; granddaughter Kathryn Burkhead, and sister Jo Chambers.
