Janet “Jan” Nelsen, 87, of Moline, IL, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center in Moline. Services will be Saturday, December 1 st , at 11:00 am, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Janet Louise Micheels was born October 20, 1931, in Omaha, NE, daughter of Louis and Olga (Bolen) Micheels. On June 20, 1952, in Omaha, she married Dewey L. “Bud” Nelsen, who preceded her in death October 14, 1986. Jan was a member of the former First Christian Church in Moline, the Christian Women’s Fellowship, the Red Hat Ladies, the Jefferson PTA, and the Mississippi Valley Antique Automobile Club of America. Survivors include her children, Darbie (Mike) Bunch of Colona, IL, and J. Chris (Vicky) Nelsen of Moline; grandchildren, Jason (Michelle) Nice, Angela (Dennis) Smutzer, Marcus Bunch, Daniel (Alicia) Bunch, and Jennifer (JC) Cline; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Smutzer, Madeline Smutzer, and Emilie Cline.
