Jane Estelle Schultze

December 31, 1919 — December 23, 2011

Jane Schultze, 92, of Moline, IL, died Friday, December 23, 2011, at Country Manor in Davenport, IA, with her niece and niece's daughters by her side. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., one hour before the funeral service at 11:00, on Tuesday, December 27th, at First Congregational Church, 2201 - 7th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island, IL, immediately following the services. Jane's wishes were that in lieu of flowers, a memorial be sent to her church, First Congregational Church of Moline, or to The Alzheimers Association. Janer Estelle Brown was born in Moline on December 31, 1919, to Harold and Leta Marie (Acheson) Brown. On August 17, 1965, Jane married Arthur William "Bill" Schultze, who preceded her in death on November 15, 2004. "Her Bill", as Jane called him, was the love of her life. Jane had sold real estate for Mel Foster, Century 21, and finally for her husband's company, ABC Realty. She was a realtor for 33 years. Jane was one of the first women allowed to join the Moline-East Moline Board of Realtors, and was their first woman secretary. She was a lifetime member of the First Congregational Church. She belonged to Short Hills Country Club, was a charter member of the Alice Kennedy Circle of Kings Daughters, a member of D.A.R., a member of the Trinity Medical Auxilary, and a proud member of the Rock Island County Republican Women. Jane loved to play golf and to play bridge. Jane graduated from Moline High School in 1938, and graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois with a degree in Journalism and Advertising. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Illinois. Survivors include her nephew, Tom Brown of Portsmouth, NH, her niece, Mary (Don) Kennedy of Milan, IL, nephew Joe Scheuerman, great nieces, Melissa (Eric) Brown and sons of Moline, Stephanie (Brandon) Roessler and son of Moline, and Stacey Kirkland of Rotonda West, FL, and four stepdaughters: Terry (Tom) Braaten of Moline, Dawn (Spiro) Dellos of Franklin, TN, Nina Morningstar of Prescott Valley, AZ, Deborah (Ted) Burch of Pensacola, FL, and a stepson, Carl (Kayelle) "Bill" Schultze of Loveland, CO. Jane had eighteen step-grandchildren and twenty-eight step-great-grandchildren, whom she adored very much. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold "Bud" Brown, a sister, Mary "Bunny" (Cliff) Scheuerman, and an infant son, Thomas Andrew. Mary Kennedy and family want to thank the staff at Country Manor, Davenport, and Hospice Compasses of Davenport, for their support, care, and love that they gave Jane.
