Jane E. Mcclean

August 25, 1948 — May 23, 2023

Jane Eggers McClean was born August 25, 1948, in Sioux Falls, SD. She was the third of four daughters born to Mary Ellen and Leonard Eggers.

She attended Loretta Heights College in Denver, where she met her future husband. Jane married John (Dick) McClean in June of 1974. They started their family in Chicago before moving to Moline, IL. She spent her life cheering and encouraging her three kids, whether it was supporting them in each of their endeavors, volunteering at the school library, being the room mom, or yelling at the sporting officials. She loved her children fiercely as they loved her. She had that same love for her six grandchildren.

Jane’s departure leaves a hole for us all, who were lucky to know and love her. She had a special place for all those who cared for her as she did for them - the rafter rats, the bridge groups, PEO sisters, and her coffee group. To know her was to love her for her generous spirit, sense of humor, and kindness.

Jane leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Dick, and their three children Matthew (Erika), Brookfield, WI; Kevin (Jenny), Southlake, TX; and Kate, Chicago, IL. Her grandchildren who made her so proud - Ainsley, Colin, John and Brian of Brookfield and Lincoln and Logan of Southlake. Along with her two sisters, Susan Johnson and Barbara Wylde, her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whom she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan.

Our ask to you, raise a scotch to her. She was one of a kind.
