James L. Clemons, 94, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Monday, July 26, 2021, at his home.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 11:00, am to 1:00 pm at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Private Family Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Men's Breakfast Club at Hope United Church of Christ in Moline, IL.
James was born January 18, 1927, in Moline, IL, to Floy and Clara (Claeys) Clemons. He married Margaret "Peggy" Duncan on January 28, 1951, in Moline, IL, who survives.
James worked at Bakers Dairy in Moline for over 20 years, delivering milk around the Quad-Cities, and also at Sam's Highland Park Bowl behind the counter for years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1949.
He was a member of Hope United Church of Christ. He enjoyed talking to people of all kinds, and also enjoyed bowling, and fishing.
James is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters, Barb Babcock of Moline, IL, and Kay (George) Hull of Port Byron, IL; son, Don (Tammy) Clemons of Moline; grandchildren, Melanie (Kevin) Blum, Jeremy Hull, and David Hull; great-grandchildren, Brittaney, Ashley, Cierra, Keller, and Ayda; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Lio, Carter, Maddie, and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.
