Jacque Stewart (Drefchinski), beloved daughter, mother, and sister, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, in Coal Valley, Illinois, at the age of 65. She was born on July 29, 1959, in Moline, Illinois, to Anthony "Joe" and Patricia (Hogan) Drefchinski. Jacque spent her life warmly embracing both her family and friends with a quick wit and a genuine love for laughter.
With a strong work ethic, Jacque dedicated over 30 years of service to the Rock Island Arsenal, where she served in various roles before retiring as a Human Resources Specialist. She graduated from Moline High School, class of 1977, laying the groundwork for a career in public service.
Jacque was a cherished figure in her family. Known affectionately for her delicious potato salad and peanut butter fudge, she created memorable moments at family gatherings that her loved ones will carry with them forever. She had a passion for storytelling, which made every conversation with her feel like an adventure. Her ability to connect with others through humor and heart made her truly special.
In her personal life, Jacque enjoyed her hobbies with a spirited enthusiasm, often spending time with family and friends. She loved reading, tackling jigsaw puzzles, dancing, watching movies, and adventuring through travels, particularly enjoying explorations in Washington State. Her vibrant personality endeared her to those fortunate enough to know her.
Jacque's legacy lives on through her loving family: her daughter, Megan Drefchinski of Kansas City, Missouri; her brother, Joe (Jan) Drefchinski, Jr., of Tucson, Arizona; and her two sisters, Patty Zimmer of LeClaire, Iowa, and Jody (Dean) Lovell of Coal Valley, Illinois. Among her nieces and nephews, Brad held a particularly special place in Jacque’s heart—the bond they shared was deep and meaningful. The other nephew and niece she leaves behind are Jeff and Stacey, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews, who brought her joy in life. Cherished alongside her family was her beloved companion dog, Chloe.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy Lewis, who will undoubtedly welcome her with open arms.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Jacque’s honor on April 26, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home, located at 1811 15th Street Place in Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, Illinois.
