Jack E. Ferry, 84, of Moline, IL, died peacefully Friday, August 13th.
A visitation will be held at Wendt Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 18th from 6 pm – 8 pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 19th. There will be a visitation at 1 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Christ Anglican Church in Moline.
Memorials may be directed to Christ Anglican Church or the charity of your choosing.
Jack was born in Moline on September 22, 1936, the third of nine children born to Lawrence and Dorothy Ferry. He started his career at John Deere Harvester Works in 1957 as a clerk advancing to Senior Engineer. In 1984 he transferred to Deere & Company as Staff Engineer. Throughout his career, Jack pursued excellence in manufacturing and participated in the development of new facilities on a global level. He retired in December of 1999 after 40 years of service. Jack was honored to serve on the board and as Chairman of the Board for FMA (Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International) as well as serving as Senior Warden at Christ Church.
Jack was a humble man with impeccable values. He was a man of many talents–literally a ‘Jack of all Trades’. He would do anything for anyone and will be remembered for his integrity, hard work, and devotion to his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Carole Ferry of Moline, his children; Chris Hoskin of TX, Kurt (Kathy) Ferry of Palatine, IL, Karen Ferry of Moline, Carolyn (Hugh) Robinson of MN and John (Kara) Ferry of Bettendorf. Grandchildren include; Ryan (Taylor) Bunch, Sheena (Josh) Cannon, Alyson Ferry, Will Ferry, Adam Robinson, Kailey Robinson, Jackson Ferry, Ethan Ferry and great grandchildren; Payton Bunch & Ronan Bunch.
He is survived by his siblings; Jim (Jan) Ferry of Kalona, IA, Donna Fisher of Silvis, Tom Ferry of Moline, and Betty (Walt) Lambert of Davenport, IA as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers; Larry, Ted, Kenny, and Daryl.
