Jack Clendenin, 75, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Hospice House in Fort Myers. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 20th, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Private family graveside services will be held Friday, September 21st, at Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Ste.300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 (Phone 855-448-3997). Jack Clendenin was born in Costa, WV, on December 18, 1936, to Greenleaf and Eunice (Kincaid) Clendenin. On March 21,1987, in Moline, he married Peggy Willey Laud, who survives. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot, and flew for the Air National Guard. He received a Bachelors Degree from Embry Riddle University in 1990. Jack was Chief Pilot for Deere & Company, retiring in 1996. Jack and Peggy moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 2001, where he was a member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church. Jack was also a proud member of the Quiet Birdmen. In addition to Peggy, his wife of 25 years, survivors include, stepdaughters: Melissa Bishop of Omaha, NE, and Lora Wilson of Singapore; stepson: Scott Laud of Moline; sister: Carole Price of Surprise, AZ; brother: Jerry Clendenin of Port Orange, FL; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
