Jack Carroll Young

Jack C. Young, 82, of Moline, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at his home. Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, with visitation 11 a.m. until services. The officiant will be Don Combs. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Timothy's House of Hope, Davenport. Jack was born July 21, 1933, in Timewell, Ill., to Roy and Harriet Hill Young. He married Pauline Blanchard on June 5, 1962, in Geneseo. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was employed as a truck driver for ANR Freight, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Pauline; daughter, Debbie (Dan) Schafer, Rock Island; son, Robert (Lori) Saemisch II, Rock Island; five grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Young; and two sisters, JoAnn Dhabalt and Betty Skiles.
