Ivan Robert Hines

Ivan R. Hines, 84, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at his home. Services will be held Friday, October 5 th , at 2:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a 2-hour visitation prior to the service, starting at 12 Noon. Memorials may be made to ARC of the Quad Cities. Ivan Robert Hines was born in Moline on September 11, 1934, son of Otto and Lydia (Greeley) Hines.  On June 19, 1953, he married Edna McRoy, who survives. He was a graduate of Moline High School, attended radio technical school, and studied jet training at Northwestern University.  He retired in 1985, after 30 years, from Alcoa Davenport Works.  He enjoyed aviation and photography, and loved being with family. In addition to his wife, Edna, survivors include a daughter, Susan (Ahmed) Elsayed of Moline; a son, Dan (Connie) Hines of Moline; a brother, Mike Hines of East Moline; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David, in 2014, and two grandchildren, Lucas Hines, and Sarah Elsayed. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wendtfuneralhome.com .
