Irene A Weaver

Irene A. Weaver, 90, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Davenport, IA, passed from this life Friday, October 24, 2008. Irene was born November 27, 1917, in Bloomfield, IA, to Henry Horace Francis and Hope Feagins Francis. She married Earnie Lowell Weaver on May 12, 1934. Earnie passed away January 23, 1989. Irene will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery following a private ceremony. Local arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Irene and Earnie raised three children together in Davenport, where Irene lived most of her adult life. She worked many years in the cleaning business and was known for her strong work ethic. Irene was a longtime member of the Central Church in Christ in Davenport. She enjoyed being with family and seeing them enjoy one another and her hospitality and home cooking. She spent her later years in Arizona enjoying walks, yard work, and sunshine. Irene is survived by her three children: Marilyn Beckman and her husband, Carl, of Moline, IL; Gary Weaver and his wife, Linda, of Phoenix, AZ; Rodney Weaver and his wife, Beverly, of Carlisle, PA; eight grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Hilda White of Kansas City, MO, and Janice Sleeth of Ottumwa, IA; her brother, Ronnie Francis of Eddyville, IA; a brother-in-law, Ralph White of Ottumwa, IA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dave, Oscar, Donald, and Jerry Francis; her sister, Freda White; and a beloved granddaughter, Susan Weaver Woodard, daughter of Gary and Linda, who passed away July 25, 2006.
