Holly Langill, 66, of Moline, IL, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, April 20th, 2022. There will be a graveside service at 11:30 am on June 3rd, 2022, in the Mausoleum at Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, IL.
On October 25th, 1955, she was born in Moline to Harry (Red) and Eleanor Langill. She was the youngest of five and enjoyed (and took full advantage of) her status as the baby of the family.
Holly was a very unique individual who loved kids and animals and was a devoted "Cat Mom" to Oliver. She enjoyed nice things, including good coffee, shoes, soft blankets, candles, nice cars, shopping, and getting her nails done. She was always up for a fun day trip and could often be found in LeClaire in pursuit of the perfect gift for family and friends. Since she was impatient and could not keep a secret, she would often appear at your door with said gift in hand weeks or months before your birthday. It gave her great joy to find special gifts for those she cared about. If you mentioned something you liked, you would probably receive it at your next meeting.
She loved to bake and made many dozens of cookies at Christmas. She loved flowers and often had the prettiest patio in her building. She was a collector of many, many things. She enjoyed going to the Farmer's Market and loved festivals. Holly attended almost every concert in a two-hour radius and had all the t-shirts to prove it.
Holly was also a member of the Quad Cities Area Clown Troupe for many years and enjoyed volunteering her time at the Bix and the food pantry. She held many jobs over her lifetime but spent her later years as a medical transcriptionist. She faced more adversity than most, and life brought her to her knees many times. She always found a way to pick herself up and start over. Life was certainly not easy for her, but she did manage to laugh and have a good time. That is what she would want people to remember about her.
She is survived by her sisters Candy (Pat) Wendt of East Moline, Cindy (Tom) Dooley of New Mexico, and Becky Neighbors of Florida, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and her cat, Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Chris, a brother-in-law, a niece, and a great-niece.
Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and express condolences at wendtfuneralhome.com.
