Herman "Jack" Cline, 90, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.
Services will be Monday, April 11, 2022, at 11:00 am., with a visitation from 9 to 11 prior to the service at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA.
Memorials may be made to the Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL.
Herman Duwain Cline was born in Moline on October 29, 1931, to Herman and Marion (Christopher) Cline. He first married Patsy L. Dhaenens and later married Linda Cline on May 10, 1975, in Moline, who preceded him in death on August 12, 2008.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict in 1952 and 1953. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Moline, for 37 years, retiring in 1987.
Herman was a Life Member of the First Christian Church, served as a Deacon, participated in the Friendship Class, and was on most of the sports teams at the church. He was also a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers - Branch #318, and M-Men's Club.
Survivors include: a daughter: Colleen Cline of Davenport, IA; a son: Kerry (Kim) Cline of Fort Collins, CO; a brother: Richard (Barbara) Cline of Cary, NC; and two grandchildren: Brianne Bernauer and Kaitlin Cline.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; and sisters: Betty, Marian, and Dorothy.
