Helen Reedy

Helen Reedy, 86, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Wednesday, July 6th at 1:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to The American Diabetes Association or to the Community Christian Church in Moline. Helen Alva Davis was born in Moline on March 6, 1925, to Alvin and Mary (Volkman) Davis. She graduated from Moline High School. On April 26, 1946, in Moline, she married Luther J. Reedy, who survives. She retired in June of 1983 as an office worker for Service Transportation. She was a member of Community Christian Church in Moline, and the Moline Turners, and enjoyed square dancing and bowling. In addition to her husband, survivors include: sons: Larry (Theresa) Reedy of Rock Island, IL, and Mike (Donna) Reedy of Foley, Alabama; step-son, Dick Reedy of Milan, IL; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
