Helen Kramer, 92, of Lenexa, KS, formerly of Moline, IL, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at her home at Sunrise of Lenexa Assisted Living Facility. Visitation will be Friday, May 29th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Saturday, May 30th, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, or Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, KS, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Helen Thompson was born in Moline on August 31, 1916, to Charles O. and Clara (Comber) Thompson. On May 11, 1941, in Rock Island, IL, she married Carl R. Kramer, who preceded her in death May 21, 2007. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Moline, where she was active in Congregators. She was a member of the DAR, P.E.O., King's Daughters, and was a past-president of the Moline Women's Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, and especially loved her family. Survivors include: two daughters: Marilyn (Jim) Snook of Overland Park, KS, and Carol (Doug) Taylor of Bristol, TN; four grandchildren: David Johnson of Olathe, KS, Lisa Burns of DeSoto, KS, Bryan Taylor of Johnson City, TN, and Jeffrey Taylor of Concord, NC; and three great-grandchildren: Alexander and Zoe Johnson, and Grace Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
