Harold "Penny" Spaulding, 83, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. "Penny" Spaulding was born on October 18, 1924, to William and Mabel (Kelly) Spaulding in Rock Island. He married Betty Heflin on April 3, 1953, in Silvis, IL. He was employed by John Deere Plow-Planter Works for over 20 years, and was a member of Union Local 434. Before that he had worked at a number of bowling alleys in the area, last working at Highland Park Bowl. "Penny" was a member of the American Bowling Congress for over 50 years, and loved bowling, fishing, and hunting. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Wednesday, February 27th, at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date. Survivors include: his Wife: Betty; four children: Tim Spaulding of Moline; Penny Strombeck of East Moline; John (Linda) Spaulding of Davenport, IA; and Debi (Chris) Hillyer of Moline; one sister: Evelyn (Gene) Ferguson of the state of Indiana; and one brother: Bucky (Shirley) Spaulding of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
