H. Marie Liljeberg

Marie Liljeberg, 83, of Moline, IL, passed away after a long battle with chronic illness, on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center East in Davenport, IA. Services will be Monday, May 23rd, at 10:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 – 13th Street, Moline. NOTE: The location of the visitation on Sunday, May 22nd, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., has been moved to Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Hazel Marie Carlson was born July 9, 1932, in Greenfield, IA, to Arthur David and Hazel Pearl (Thornbloom) Carlson. She graduated from Maple Grove Elementary, John Deere Junior High, and Moline Senior High School. On July 10, 1954, in Moline, she married Richard “Dick” Charles Liljeberg, who survives. Marie was employed for fifteen years as a bookkeeper at the Moline National Bank. Previously, she had worked as a Scrub Technician at the former Lutheran Hospital in Moline. She was a 40-year member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was involved in Altar Care, Anna Circle, WELCA, Kings Daughters, Questers, and was Reunion Chairman for MHS Class of 1950. In addition to Dick, her husband of 62 years, survivors include her son Dan (Linda) Liljeberg of Wrentham, MA; daughters Cindy (Larry) Maxwell of Wichita, KS, Chris (Steve) Sargent of Dallas, TX, and Gretta (Jim) Wells of Moline, IL; Grandchildren: Callie, Jenna, and Logan Liljeberg, Noah, Britta, and Nathan Maxwell, and Allison and Ellen Wells; and two great-grandchildren: Kale and Jace. She was preceded in death by brothers, Wallace and Warren Carlson, and sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Greta Sorensen.
