Gwendolyn Hess

Gwendolyn Hess, 90, of East Moline, IL, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. She will be interred at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Gwendolyn E. Kissel was born in Gregory, SD, on September 19, 1919, to Elgin Leslie and Lena Gertrude (Nelson) Kissel. She attended Rock Island High School. In Clinton, IA, on September 25, 1937, she married Glenn A. Hess, who preceded her in death on August 13, 1996. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed travel, camping, crafts, bingo, many types of needlework, and especially loved her grandchildren Survivors include: her daughter: Nancy Lee Jackson of Paris, TX; her son: Quinn A. (Patricia) Hess of Rock Island; sisters: Maxine Walston, Faye Lawrence, and Donna Hamrick; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
