Gregory Allen Teager

March 8, 1961 — March 29, 2025

Moline

Gregory A. Teager, 64, of Moline, Illinois, suffered a heart attack and passed away on March 29, 2025 in Moline. Greg was born March 8, 1961, to Norman and Mary Teager, and grew up in Silvis, Illinois.

To honor Greg's memory, a funeral service with military honors will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. There is no visitation prior to the service.

He married Dawn Woodhurst on July 11, 1987 and they had a son, Dylann in March of 1992. They divorced March 1, 2000. Greg was married to Darla Teager from 2005 until 2017.

Greg's lengthy career as a forklift mechanic spanned 33 years at M.H. Equipment, East Moline, Illinois and Hupp Toyotalift, Davenport. His life as a devoted, proud father began when his son, Dylann, was born. He said having Dylann was his biggest achievement. They were inseparable for many years making memories while assembling Dylann's train set, playing hockey at home, enjoying many hours of fun pool time, and volunteering as assistant coach for Dylann's youth baseball games. Greg was never absent from his son's baseball, roller hockey and ice hockey games. A large highlight of his life was the countless fishing trips with Dylann, usually 2-3 times a week, when Dylann was between 1 and 10 years of age. (Attached photos detail their love of fishing.)  He spent weekends teaching Dylann how to fish and was impressed by how talented he was. They bonded over their love of fishing and together they watched hours of fishing shows on Sundays.

Greg's hobbies had included playing handball in his 20's,  working on his Camaro Z28 in the late 70's, fishing every chance he could in the mountains of Arizona in late 80's, while living in Mesa with his wife, Dawn. Greg bought and did many upgrades to his Chevy truck that within a year, had been chosen to be featured on a truck magazine cover, but was stolen the month prior to that accomplishment. His last project was countless hours spent rebuilding and ultimately enjoying driving his 96 Corvette, with his Lab, Jake, by his side.

Greg attended UTHS and joined the United States Army as an Infantryman. He served from August 1981 - September 1984 at Ft. Benning GA and Korea. During his service, Greg was awarded with medals for being an expert Rifleman and Sharpshooter.

Preceding him in peace were his parents, Norman and Mary Teager.

Survivors are son, Dylann G. Teager; sisters Carrie (Rachel Johnson) Teager, Naperville, Illinois and Jennifer Teager, Texas; brother, Brian Teager; and his constant companion, Jake, his service dog.

You are invited to share memories and express condolences to Dylann at wendtfuneralhome.com.
