Grace Augusta Wallace

Grace Augusta Wallace, age 102, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline. Grace Augusta Meyer was born in Moline, on January 23, 1906, to Henry and Mathilda (Miller) Meyer. She married Carl Franklin Wallace on September 16, 1925, in Moline. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1970. Grace was a home maker, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Moline; she was past Superintendent of the Seniors Department and the Choir; the President of C.W.F.; a member of Loyal Married Peoples Class; a member of Nell C. Soderstrom Circle of Kings Daughters; and had delivered Meals-On-Wheels for 15 years. Visitation will be Thursday, August 14th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Services will be held Friday, August 15th, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Christian Church in Moline. Burial will be in Rock River View Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may go to the First Christian Church of Moline, or to the new Moline Public Library. Survivors include her daughter: Shirley Nelson of Moline, IL.; two sons: Don Wallace of Charleston, SC., and Terence Wallace of Kalamazoo, MI.; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
