Giles B Czupka

Giles B. Czupka, 80, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at UnityPoint Trinity Medical West in Rock Island, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 15 th , at 10:00 a.m., at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island. Those wishing to attend should be gathered at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, by 9:45 a.m., for a place in the procession onto Arsenal Island. Giles was born in Chicago, IL, on August 18, 1938, the son of Andrew and Genevieve (Czosnyka) Czupka.  He first married Rita Timm in June 1963, and fathered two sons. In August 1987, he married Lola J. Koehn. Giles served in the U.S. Army for two years, and was later employed by International Harvester/Navistar for 30 years. Survivors include sons, Tim (Lisa) Czupka of North Carolina, and Dan  (Robyn) Czupka of Virginia; step-daughters, Michelle Fox of Gainesville, FL, and Roxanne (Steven) Peterson of Coal Valley, IL; step-sons, Terry (Judy) Kane of Oceanside, CA, and Daniel (Norma) Koehn  of Cedar Rapids, IA; siblings, Ernie Czupka of Florida, Gerie Bakeris of Boston, MA, Bernie Bowman of Moline, IL, Rick Czupka of Davenport, IA, and Dewey Czupka of Rock Island; grandchildren, Savannah Czupka and Sawyer Czupka. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lola, and sister, Diana Barnette.
