Geraldine Greer

Geraldine “Gerry” Greer, 88, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. Services will be held Sunday, July 31st, at 4:00 p.m., with a one-hour visitation prior, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A private family burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL, on Monday, August 1st. Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline, or to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Geraldine Hope Starr was born July 25, 1928 in Powersville, MO, to Clarence and Helen (Pollock) Starr. She graduated high school, and on December 25, 1946 in Corydon, IA, she married Dwight R. Greer, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1985. Gerry was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Moline, and the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her daughters, Sherry (Mike) Doerflinger of Aurora, CO, Debbie (Greg) White of Moline, Lori (Dan) Hayes of Aurora, CO, and Jackie (Rick) Ford of Boise, ID; her sister-in-law, Shirley Starr of Moline; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Prior, and her husband, Slim, and a brother, Wayne Starr and his wife, Norma, and a brother, Bill Starr.
