Gerald Dore, 80, of Moline, IL, passed away March 21, 2014, at Genesis - Illini Campus Medical Center in Silvis, IL Per his wishes, the body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 24th, at 1:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. Gerald Dore was born on January 9, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to Michael and Margaret (Baker) Dore. On May 25, 1972, in Joliet, IL, he married Veronica P. Turiccki, who survives. He attended school in Chicago, and joined the U.S. Air Force, serving two years in the Korean Conflict. Jerry was a Union Electrician for the Metropolitan Water Reclaimation District, working out of Local 134 in Chicago. After retiring in 2000, Jerry and Veronica living in Surprise, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, and Punta Gorda, FL, enjoying the sunshine. They then settled in Silvis, IL, to be closer to family. He enjoyed anything to do with the Civil War, loved to read, and could repair or build anything. Jerry was very artistic and loved to draw, and he was an avid Bears fan. In addition to his wife, Veronica, survivors include: daughters, Tina (John) Lassuy of Moline, Donna Montefusco of Naperville, IL, Christine Dore of California, Casey (Jim) Nicholson of Fountain Valley, CA; son, Craig (Susan) Dore of Mission Viejo, CA; sisters, Phyllis (Richard) Duffner of Plainfield, IL, and Carol (William) Krause of Quincy, IL; grandchildren, Rachel (Aaron) Fosberg of Olathe, KS, Sabrina, Gillian, London, and Demi, all of California, Sarah and Marco of Lockport, IL, Shadd and Dustin of Florida, and Faith of Moline; and great-grandchildren, Hadley and Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patricia Oboikovitz, a brother Mike Dore, and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Donna Dore.
