George W. Westcott, 89, of Moline, IL, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, January 26th, from 5:00 p.mn. until 8:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a Masonic Service at 7:30. Services will be Friday, January 27th, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 - 13th Street, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, or to Christian Friendliness. George W. Westcott was born in San Diego, CA, on April 3, 1922, to George and Anna (Woehler) Westcott. On February 26, 1949, he married Donna Lundahl, who survives. He graduated from Rock Island High School, and attended Moline Institute of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from September 23, 1942 to February 12, 1946. He was a salesman for Hedman Company, selling check protectors and check signers, for 33 years, until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline, Moline High Twelve Club #88, and the Moline American Legion Post #246. He was a member of Doric Lodge #319 AF&AM, and was Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1979. He enjoyed camping and golfing. In addition to his wife, Donna, survivors include: children, Thomas (Karen) Westcott of San Jose, CA, Janice (Pete) Wessel of Asmara, Eritrea, Africa, and Marilyn (Randy) Williams of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Erik (Kim) Williams of Eagle Vail, CO, and Adam (Amanda) Williams of Broomfield, CO; and great-grandchildren: Bella, Tristan, and Jasper, all of Eagle Vail, CO, and Jude of Broomfield, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.
