Frederick E. Miller, Jr, 91, of Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his loving family Services will be Wednesday, October 31st, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. There will be a two-hour visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Honor Flights of the Quad Cities. Frederick Miller, Jr was born in Muscatine, IA, on January 27, 1921, to Fred and Elsie (Stoker) Miller. On August 11, 1948, in Moline, he married Norma Mae Black, who survives. He graduated from Moline High School, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed as a printing pressman for 39 years by Modern Woodmen, retiring in 1984. He was also employed for a time by the Book Concern of Augustana College in Rock Island. He was a member of the East Moline Four Square Church, and enjoyed singing in the church choir. In addition to his wife, Norma Mae, survivors include, daughter: Carol (Charlie) Mockmore of Moline; sons: David Miller of Moline, and Ron (Wanda) Miller of Glenpool, OK; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Elizabeth; and great-granddaughter, Abbie.
