Frederick Anderson, 92, a resident of Friendship Manor, Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island. Services will be held Saturday, May 31st, at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 1724 - 15th Street, in Moline. Visitation will be Saturday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Moline for the immediate family. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Sunday School. Frederick A. Anderson was born on March 7, 1916, to Ernest and Teckla (Larson) Anderson in Kewanee, IL. He married Helen L. Allison on June 29, 1940, in Moline, IL, at Salem Lutheran Church. He first worked for John Deere Co in Moline for 11 years, then was transferred to the new Deere plant in Dubuque, IA for 6 years. He then was employed by the Sterling Products Co, taking his training at 3M Company in Minneapolis, MN and at Norton Company in Worcester, MA. He worked for Sterling Products Co for 27 years in sales, calling on the many John Deere Plants in his territory. Fred was a former member of the Manufacturing Tool Society, the Viking Club, and the Salem Lutheran Church in Moline. He was an avid golfer with his favorite four-some, having made a hole-in-one, and loved fishing traveling, and spending time with his family and his many, many friends. In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters: Mardell Ericson of Seattle, WA., and Kristen (Don) Hill of Hinsdale, IL.; one son: Curtis (Susan) Anderson of Rock Island, IL.; ten grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren, including three sets of twins. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. The family would like to thank Dr. Pareigis, and his staff, and caregivers at Friendship Manor for their assistance, and Pastor Randy Willers and Melody Schnell for their compassion and prayers.
