Florence E. "Tootie" Minear, 87, a resident of Heritage Woods in Moline, IL, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Aspenwood Care Center in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Tuesday, January 5th, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Florence E. Rasche was born May 9, 1922, to George and Ella (O'Donnell) Rasche in Luverne, MN. On November 3, 1945, in Atchinson, KS, she married William Minear, who preceded her in death on January 26, 1971. "Tootie" worked in the Ticket Office at Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, IL, for five years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Moline, and enjoyed collecting greeting cards and angels, and spending fun-loving times with family and friends. Survivors include: two sons: George Minear of East Moline, and William Minear of Montgomery, IL; a sister: Delores Meland of Hartford, SD; a niece: Pat Kinney of Moline; two sisters-in-law: Louise Cullor and Virginia Wheeler; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many more nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Nora Rust and Pearl Varner, a brother, Bud Rasche, and a daughter, Pamela.
