Florence E Anderson

Florence E. Anderson, 81, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at St Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Services will be Saturday, September 18th, at 2:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation from noon until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Moline. Florence E. Bostrom was born in Moline on November 13, 1928, to Ivar and Alma Bostrom. In Moline, in 1955, she married Stig I. Anderson. She graduated from Moline High School, and St. Ambrose Business College in Davenport, IA. She was a bookkeeper for Anderson and Son Painting. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Moline, where she participated as a Sunday school teacher and choir member, and a member of the Viking Club and the Vasa Organization. Florence was very active in the PTA and the Cub Scouts, and was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to feed the many birds and squirrels that inhabited her yard, and enjoyed painting ceramics, and decorating her home. Florence was a kind and gentle wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her. She loved the Lord, her God, and is now resting peacefully for all eternity with her Savior. Including her husband of 55 years, Stig, she is survived by a son, Gregory (Suzanne) Anderson, a daughter Elizabeth (Dale) Jinks, grandchildren Abby, Anna, Joshua, Nicholas, and Zachary, and two great-grandchildren, Lila Rose and Reeve Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Roy Bostrom.
