Eva Bevins, 99, of East Moline, IL, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline. Graveside services will be Monday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Those who wish to attend the graveside service will need to be at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline by 12:45 p.m. in order to be included in the funeral procession to National Cemetery. Burial will be next to her husband at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Project Now. Eva L. Burham was born in Washington, IA, on February 22, 1911, to Cloyce and Mabel (Lambert) Burham. She graduated from Washington High School, and attended Washington Junior College. On April 22, 1938, in Indianapolis, IN, she married Joseph Dean Bevins, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1986. Eva and Joseph lived in Davenport, IA, for many years. Eva retired from the former Peterson Harned-Von Maur Department Store in downtown Davenport, after 32 years in the shoe department. Survivors include nieces and cousins; a very special couple, Tom and Zilpha Grooms of East Moline; and a very special girl, Tracy Harris Crowley of Bettendorf, IA, who was like a granddaughter to Eva.
