Ethel H Siegfried

Ethel H. Siegfried, 88, of Bloomington, MN, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Methodist Hospital in Saint Louis Park, MN. Visitation will be Sunday, April 17th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, April 18th, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 - 13th Street, Moline. Entombment will be in Moline Memorial Park Mausoleum. Ethel H. Koos was born in Davenport, IA, on March 19, 1923, to Henry and Amanda (Speakman) Koos. She was working at the Rock Island Arsenal when she met Clarence A. "Ziggy" Siegfried, Jr. They were married in Ft. Belvoir, VA, on April 11, 1944. He preceded her in death October 16, 1994. She worked for many years with "Ziggy" at the American Rental Association. "Ziggy" was it's first employee when the Association started in 1956, and Ethel worked at his side for the first 15 years of it's existence, helping to get it started. Ethel and "Ziggy" were life-long residents of Moline, and long-time members of Trinity Lutheran Church, as well as Short Hills Country Club. Survivors include, children: Susan (Frank) Gedelman of Wisconsin, Connie (Kevin) Nagel Minnesota, and Craig Siegfried of Illinois; four grandchildren: Justin Gedelman of Wisconsin, Tim Nagel of Nebraska, Amanda (Nagel) and Todd Orduno of Minnesota, and Alexander Siegfried of Illinois; a great-grandchild: Logan Siegfried of Illinois; and three sisters: Thersia Gless of Davenport, Esther Conti of Denver, Co, and Helen Dannacher of Sun City AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Heartfelt thanks to Mary and Diane Adams at Solbakken, who provided Ethel with the most loving care she could have had.
