Erma Donna Dalton, 93, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, March 12, 2013, at Appleton Health Care Center in Appleton, WI. Services will be Friday, March 21st, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a two-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Garden at the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 - 4th Avenue, Rock Island, IL. Erma was born in East Moline, IL, on April 5, 1920, to Willis and Julia (Gardner) Toler. On December 27, 1947, in East Moline, she married Thomas Dalton, who preceded her in death. She graduated in 1938 from United Township High School in East Moline, and attended BlackHawk College, Augustana College, and Marycrest College. She was an Assistant Librarian at the East Moline Public Library, was the school librarian at the Annie Wittenmyer School in Davenport, IA. She worked as an Information Coordinator at the Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging. She was a long time volunteer in the gift shops at the Lutheran, Moline Public, Franciscan, and Illini Hospitals. She also volunteered in the gift shop at the Quad Cities Botanical Center. She attended Homewood Evangelical Free Church as well as First Evangelical Free Church. Survivors include: son: Thomas P. Dalton (Kim Normoyle) of Davenport, IA; daughters: Colleen (Steve) Lester of Coal Valley, IL, Jan Thomas of Moline, IL, and Peggy (Mark) Dahl of Appleton, WI; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two nieces. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, John Toler, and sister, Charlene Allen.
