View Video Tribute Eleanor Stegenga, 94, of East Moline, IL, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at at Trinity Terrace Park Medical Center in Bettendorf, IA.
Visitation will be Monday, June 29th at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Services will be Tuesday June 30th at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline.
Eleanor Keyl was born in Platte Center, NE, on June 22, 1915, to Rev. Otto and Selma (Hoffman) Keyl. On September 5, 1948, in East Moline, she married Frank Stegenga, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1983.
She retired as a Secretary for the Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, IL. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in East Moline, where she was active in the 60 plus club, Ladies Aid and the Birthday Club. She was a loving wife and devoted mother.
Survivors include, her daughter: Darlene (Perry) Aukee of East Moline; a son: David Stegenga of Bettendorf; one granddaughter: Lisa (Keith) Wells, Johnston, IA; two grandsons: Nathan Aukee and his fiance' Sara Slonecker, East Moline, John-Mark Aukee of East Moline and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Agatha Folkerts, Delores Mize and Agnes Erickson; and one brother: Otto Keyl, Jr.
