Eleanor J Calsen

Eleanor J. Calsen, 83, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Services will be held Monday, August 13th, at 1:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A two-hour visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Eleanor Calsen was born in Moline on December 25, 1928, to John and Iris (Sackett) Calsen. She graduated from Moline High School, and Monmouth College. She was employed for 35 years, by the Overseas Division of Deere & Company, retiring in 1987 as an administrative secretary. Ellie was a fun-loving, social, active person who loved her cat, Misty, loved her family, friends, and neighbors, and loved working at John Deere for so many years. She had a passion for swimming, bowling, and crafts, and was the BEST AUNT in the world. She was always supportive to her niece, Pam, her nephew, Chris and his wife, Tammy, and loved spending time with her great-nephews, Josh, Ryan, Benjamin, and Liam. Ellie was always up for an adventure, like traveling with her family and friends, hiking in the woods with Chris, fishing with her great-nephews, or going to see all of the boys' sporting events. Ellie, you will be greatly missed by your family and friends! Survivors include: niece: Pamela Abbott of Lone Tree, CO; nephew: Christopher (Tammy) Bryan of Lee's Summit, MO; and four great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Marcia A Bryan.
