Eleanor I Olson

Eleanor Oberg Johnson Olson, 92, of Rock Island, IL, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at Friendship Manor/Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Pavilion in Rock Island. Eleanor I. Thorngren was born on July 31, 1915, to Carl Alfred and Connie (Fahlberg) Thorngren in Moline, IL. On June 8, 1938, she married the Rev. John Oberg, who preceded her in death in 1958. She married the Rev. Wallace Johnson in 1965, and he died in 1983. She then married Russell O. Olson on June 14, 1986, in Moline, IL. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2005. She was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church in Moline. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 30th, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Monday, December 31st, at 1:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church in Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Moline, IL. Survivors include: one daughter: Faith (Keith) Gates of Noblesville, IN; two sons: Daniel (Judy) Oberg of Dixon, IL, and Thomas (Maripat) Oberg of Williams, MN; four stepdaughters: Joyce Mendini of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn (Richard) Otis of Iowa City, IA, Joanne (Les) Solomon of Atlanta, GA, and Sue (Lee) Wakefield of Coralville, IA; two stepsons: Daniel Johnson of Boston, MA, and James (Connie) Olson of Iowa City, IA; two sisters: Marjorie Graflund of Moline, IL, and Dorothy Griem of Rock Island, IL; nine grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
