Eileen M. Ickes

Eileen Ickes, beloved wife of Mike Ickes of 34 years, and cherished mother of Ryan Ickes (Alaina) and Lauren Moe (Blake), passed away surrounded by love on November 8th, 2023. She is also remembered by her stepson, Aaron Ickes (Stacey), and leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion.

Born to the late Ann Roesler Wilson and David Wilson in Chicago, Eileen was the second of seven children, sharing her love with siblings Elizabeth Lund, Mary Wilson, David Wilson (Chandra), Sarah Baray (Ray), Jennifer Johnson (Greg), and Amy Brewer. Eileen's life unfolded in the Quad Cities, where she embraced the company of family and friends.

A dedicated nurse, Eileen's caring nature extended beyond her profession. She faced and triumphed over breast cancer, demonstrating strength and resilience that inspired all who knew her. Her journey as a survivor symbolized hope, courage, and the power of unwavering determination.

Eileen's joys were abundant—whether immersed in the enchantment of Disney World, basking in the sun on Florida's sandy beaches, or finding serenity on the dock at Sylvan Lake. Her love for animals, especially cats, and her boundless creativity manifested in sewing, scrapbooking, and crafting intricate mini houses.

Eileen leaves behind a legacy of beautiful creations that reflect the depth of her love. In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation in her name to support breast cancer research and awareness.

May Eileen's spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched, and may her memory inspire acts of kindness and resilience.

A Celebration of Life will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.
