Edward Eugene Bowers

Edward Eugene Bowers Sr., 82, of Rock Island, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Services will be Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 am, with visitation prior to service from 9:00 am - 11:00 am.at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Bowers Family.

Edward was born in Rock Island on September 24, 1940, to Leroy and Alice E. (Forgie) Bowers. He married Norma I. Chambers in Rock Island on July 20, 1963.

He graduated from Rock Island High School, class of 1958. Edward was employed at Service Rubber/Honeywell as a laborer upon retiring in February 2009.

Edward was the treasurer for the United Rubber Workers Union. He enjoyed bowling on leagues in and around the Quad-City area for years and loved fishing.

In addition to his loving wife, Norma, survivors include; son Edward (Dottie) Bowers, Bettendorf, IA; daughter Pam Bowers, Rock Island, IL; ten grandchildren: Sara (Terell) Bowers, Edward III (Caitlin) Bowers, Kayla Depardo, Paula (LaQuest) Depardo, Amanda (Juan) Ponce, Kenneth (Kaity) Ague, Joshua (Ashlee) Becht, Brittanie Becht, Ginny Donlevy, and Cody (Ashley) Donlevy; thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and all of his beloved animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Leroy Bowers Jr., in 2006.
