Edna Hines

Edna H. Hines, 88, of Moline, passed peacefully in her home on July 1, 2023.


The funeral service will be 12 noon on Thursday, July 6, 2023, preceded by a visitation at 10 am until the start of the service at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery.


Memorials may be made to The Arc of the Quad Cities.


She was born on July 29, 1934, in Golconda, Illinois, to Julia and Charles McRoy. Edna was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Ivan “Bob” Hines, for 65 years. She was a homemaker who made her home welcome to everyone she knew. Along the way, they raised three children.


Anyone who knew Edna would say she was a talkative woman who loved chatting about her memories with her loving family. She loved crocheting, sewing, and basketball. In her later years, Edna enjoyed being a loving great-grandmother to her great-grandson.


Edna was a great woman whose family will forever feel her impact. She was truly loved, and her passing will leave an unfulfilled gap in the hearts of her loved ones.


Those left to honor her memory are; her son Daniel Hines of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Max Weis of Utah, Robin Weis of Oregon, Maryam Lacle of East Moline, Shannon Hines, and Jessica Hines; along with a great-grandson.


Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Charles McRoy, son, David Hines, sister, Marianne McVey, husband Ivan “Bob” Hines, grandson Lucas Hines, and daughter Susan Hines.
