E. Joline Vandevoorde

Joline VandeVoorde, 88, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016, at Heritage Woods of Moline. There will be no services. Wendt Funeral Home of Moline is assisting the family with the arrangements. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline. Ellen Joline Dawson was born in Smithville, AR, on June 16, 1928, to Ralph and Ena (Bristow) Dawson. On June 3, 1989, in Davenport, IA, she married Achiel “Ace” VandeVoorde, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2009. She worked in sales at J.C. Penney Company in Moline for 23 years, retiring in 1989. Joline was a member of the East End Bolders Club in Moline, and enjoyed sewing, flower arranging, and crafts. Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Crafton of East Moline, two sons, Danny Crafton of Andalusia, IL, and Ralph Crafton of DeKalb, IL; and five grandchildren: Tania, Eric, and Steven Crafton, Katrina Thomsen, and Ruthie Docking. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Clynell Sandusky.
