Dorothy Kall

Dorothy Marie (Jacobs) Kall, 93, formerly of Rock Island, IL, passed away November 26, 2020, at Marigold Rehab & Health Care Center, Galesburg, IL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Wendt Funeral Home Moline, IL, with a one hour visitation from 9 am to 10 am prior to service. The service can be viewed by family and friends via livestream through our website.

Dorothy was born September 7, 1927, at home in Rock Island, IL., the daughter of Clarence and Helen Jacobs.

She was united in marriage to George C Kall Jr on August 21, 1948, in Rock Island, IL. To this union, they had two sons and two daughters. Thomas, Helen, George, and Christina.

Years later, after graduating high school, she obtained degrees in Interior Design from Scott Community College and Certified Nurses Aid. Dorothy worked for Royal Neighbors, Good Samaritan, other nursing agencies, and private duty nursing.

In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, casino gambling, and traveling to Nevada, Tennessee, and Iowa. Dorothy was a member of the Rock Island County Extension, Kings Daughters, and St. Pauls Catholic Church, Davenport, IA. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Thomas(Beth) Kall of Athens, TN; George Kall of Davenport, IA. Daughters: Helen (Wendell) Finer of Thompson, IA and Christina (Brian) Crisp of Rock Island, IL; and two grandchildren Faith Finer and Tommy Kall. Sisters: Virginia Jensen, Jane Overton, and Molly Cummins, and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George of 59 years, brothers Kenneth and Danny Jacobs, sisters Marion Romine, Betty Davis, Linda Smith, and Shirley Dunbar, as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a fund to be established.
