Dorothy Jean Moore

Dorothy Jean Moore, 85, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, while in Athens, GA, at a family gathering. Visitation will be held Friday, November 8th, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Saturday, November 9th, at 10:00 a.m., at First Covenant Church, 3303 - 41st Street, Moline, with graveside rites thereafter at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Moline, on October 6, 1928, to Clifford C. and Helen Evelyn (Myers) Cobert. She attended Moline schools, graduating from Moline Senior High School in January of 1947, and then graduating from Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in October of 1950. She was employed as an office nurse for the former Dr. O. Wilhart Koivun, M.D., then was a geriatric nurse at the former Americana Nursing Home, and in February of 1991, she retired from Illini Hospital in Silvis, IL. She married Donald Blusher, of Sherrard, IL, on September 9, 1955, and spent twelve years farming in the Sherrard area. She later married Marion H. Moore of Moline, on December 24, 1987. Dorothy and Marion had almost twenty-six years of happy matrimony, always enjoying their family, consisting of five children and thirteen grandchildren, as well as their wonderful friends. She was a very active member of the First Covenant Church of Moline. She also enjoyed visiting with, and having regular lunches with, her gal pals from Moline High School Class of 1947, and her fellow Lutheran Nurses. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Marion; a son, Kevin C. (Dawn) Blusher of Platte City, MO; a daughter, Kristie Lee (Robert L.) Sulaski of Montreat, NC; a son, Charles T. (Nancy) Moore of Lawrenceville, GA; and daughters, Christine E. (Stephen) Vize of Morris, IL, and Janice R. (Steven) Bouchard of Westmont, IL; and grandchildren, Kyle R. Blusher of Tampa, FL, Katherine R. (Andrew) Fulbright of Athens, GA, Kimberlee J. Blusher of Lawrence, KS, Maximilan E. and Alejandro J. Gallegos of Platte City, MO, Emily R., Robert M., and Rachel E. Sulaski, all of Asheville, NC, Nathan C. (Morgan) Moore of Monroe, GA, Alyssa C. Moore of Lawrenceville, GA, Joshua C. Vize of Morris, IL, Lauren A. Bouchard of Gurnee, IL, and Daniel S. Bouchard of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford J.(Lois) Cobert of Rock Island, IL.
