Dorothy B Dixon

Dorothy B. Dixon, 98, of Moline, IL, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Aperion Care in East Moline, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  A graveside service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL.  Those wishing to attend the service should be at Wendt Funeral Home no later than 10:45 a.m. Friday to be included in the procession. Memorials may be made to a local no-kill animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Dorothy was born February 21, 1920, in Chetek, WI, daughter of Chester and Vivian (McGraw) Stotts. Dorothy served in the Women’s Corps of the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. After the war she worked as a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal.  She was a member of the V.F.W., and enjoyed Bingo and going to Jumer’s. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Evelyn, Carol, Pat, Ronny, Carl, Shirley, Dottie, and Peggy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her sisters, Myrna Stotts and Margie Reed; her brothers, Charles Stotts and Gene Stotts; and a niece, Myrna Adamson.
