Dorothy A Claeys

Dorothy Claeys, 69, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Genesis - Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. As per her wishes, there will be no services. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Dorothy A. McGimpsey was born in Moline on December 4, 1939, to William and Ethel (Richardson) McGimpsey. She married Robert Davis in Rock island, IL, in April of 1963. Later, in East Moline, IL, on December 22, 1983, she married Edward Dennis Claeys, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2002. Dorothy graduated from Moline High School and attended Black Hawk College. She retired in 1994, after more than 20 years, as a barmaid at the Yankee Doodle. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline. Survivors include: her daughters: Jodi (Don) Taets of Moline, and Linnea (Aaron Zinn) Kenward of Hampton, VA; grandchildren: Cordero, Joseph, Marisa, and Destiny Taets, Jessica Kenward, and Allen Zinn; a great-granddaughter: Kaylee Taets; brothers: James McGimpsey of Eldridge, IA, and Gerald & Dennis McGimpsey, both of naples, FL; a sister: Pam Rolens of Fredrickstown, MO; and a special cousin: Carol Glaus of LeClaire, IA.
