Donna L. Kress, 74, of Rock Island, IL, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at Rock Island Nursing & Rehab in Rock Island, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 17th, at 4:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a two-hour visitation from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Nursing & Rehab Center, 2545 - 24th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201. Donna L. Worrell was born in Bloomington, WI, on November 29, 1939, to Omer and Florence (Jeidy) Worrell. On February 7, 1956, in Dubuque, IA, she married Edward 'Bud' Kress, who preceded her in death February 28, 1997. 'Bud' was in the Navy, so the couple lived in Seattle, WA and San Diego, CA, until June 1959. She lived in Moline, IL, and Rock Island, IL, from 1966 to 2014. Donna worked as a secretary in the appliance business for twenty-four years, retiring in 1998. Survivors include, sons: Rick (Bobbie) Kress of Eau Claire, WI, Tim (Margy) Kress, and Rob (Michelle) Kress, all of Rock Island; sisters: Mary Caughey of Aledo, IL, and Charlotte (Keith) Kline of Davenport, IA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a sister, Bev Senatra. A special thank you goes to the nurses and aides at Rock Island Nursing & Rehab Center.
