Donald K. Greene, 83, of Moline, IL. died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Donald K. Greene was born on January 1, 1925, to Ernie and Mabel (Stoneberg) Greene in Galva, IL. He married Bernice M. Ericson on June 28, 1946, in Moline, and she survives. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, attached to Company B, 85th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, out of Camp Hale, CO. Donald was a truck driver for American Air Filter, retiring in 1985 after 39 years. He was a member of Riverside Methodist Church in Moline. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Inurnment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to Riverside Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Michele (Peter) Capos of Portland, TX, and Carol (Daniel) Wellmeier of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren: Melissa Belz and Michael Rundle; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Max Greene; a son: Michael Keith; a grandson: Jason Rundle; and a granddaughter: Alisha.
