Donald D. Grchan, 64, of Moline, IL died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at his home. In keeping with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 24th, at 2:00 p.m., at Hope United Church of Christ, 3324 - 41st Street, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Donald D. Grchan was born in Moline, on May 8, 1949, to Steven and Betty (Larson) Grchan. On August 14, 1992, in Moline, he married Susan M. Seitz, who survives. He was a graduate of Alleman High School, and owned and operated his own concrete business, never missing a day of work. Don loved to go out and eat, he had a great sense of humor, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed sports and fishing, and was a loyal Bears and Cubs fan. He was a coach , and "Papa Don" was the Number One Fan of his grandkids' sports. And all knew of the Grchan Stretch. In addition to his wife, Susan, survivors include: daughters, Aimee (Pat) Roberts, Kim (Noah) Babcock, and Kate (Steve) Spirewka; son, Mark (Patty) Grchan; brothers, Steve and Jim Grchan; a special Aunt, Sally Grchan; and close personal friend, Brad Lang, and nine grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Phil Grchan.
